Is it wrong to be transgender in Islam?

God knows you fully and is closer to you than your jugular vein [Qur’an 50:16]; he knew you before anyone else did. The Qur’an describes the generous Lord “who created you, shaped you, and balanced you, assembling you in whatever form he willed” (82:7-8), and says “we created the human being in the finest form” (95:4). The one who shaped your body also knows what is inside you (50:16), and “It is he who shapes you in the wombs as he wills” (3:6). Your creation is God’s own work, and since “no bearer of burdens bears the burden of another” (6:164), the form you were given is never counted against you. What God asks of you is what he asks of everyone: “The most honored of you in God's sight is the most mindful of him” (49:13).
