Is it wrong to be lesbian in Islam?
As a woman who loves women, you are near to God and heard by him: “indeed, I am near. I answer the call of the one who calls when they call on me” [Qur’an 2:186]. The Qur’an names believing women in their own right, alongside men, and for them God has prepared “forgiveness and a great reward” (33:35); he promises he will “never let the work of any worker among you be lost, male or female — you are of one another” (3:195). Your need for love and companionship is human and honored: believing women and men are “protectors of one another” (9:71), and love and mercy between people are counted among God’s signs (30:21). What you answer for is your own life alone, since “no bearer of burdens bears the burden of another” (6:164), and what God looks at is the mindfulness of your heart (49:13). Whatever the people around you say, God sees you as you are, and a whole surah opens with him hearing one woman’s plea (58:1).
