52:7إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌindeed, the punishment of your Lord will surely come to pass,
52:8مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍnothing can hold it back.
52:9يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًاon the day the sky will heave and sway,
52:10وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًاand the mountains move, truly move.
52:11فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَWoe, on that day, to those who deny the truth,
52:12ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَthose who amuse themselves in idle talk,
52:13يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّاthe day they are thrust into the fire of jahannam with a violent thrust.
52:14هَـٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ"This is the fire you used to deny.
52:15أَفَسِحْرٌ هَـٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَIs this magic, then, or do you not see?
52:16ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَBurn in it. Whether you endure it patiently or not, it is all the same for you. You are only being repaid for what you used to do.
52:17إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَنَعِيمٍIndeed, those mindful of God are in gardens and bliss,
52:18فَـٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِdelighting in what their Lord has given them, and their Lord has shielded them from the torment of jahim.
52:19كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَEat and drink with delight, for what you used to do.
52:20مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍReclining on couches arranged in rows, and we pair them with companions of beautiful, wide eyes.
52:21وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَـٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌAs for those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith — we join their descendants to them, and we do not diminish anything from their deeds. Every person is held in pledge for what they have earned.
52:22وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰهُم بِفَـٰكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَAnd we supply them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire.
52:23يَتَنَـٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌThey pass a cup between them that stirs no idle talk and no wrongdoing.
52:24۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌAnd youths of their own attend them, like pearls kept hidden.
52:25وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَAnd they turn to one another, asking questions.
52:26قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَThey will say, "Before this, among our families, we lived in fear,
52:27فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِBut God was gracious to us and shielded us from the torment of the scorching wind.
52:28إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُIndeed, we used to call upon him before. He is the Truly Good, the Most Merciful.
52:29فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍSo remind them. By the grace of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman.
52:30أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِOr do they say, "He is a poet — we await some misfortune of time to strike him"?
52:31قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَSay, "Wait — I too am waiting along with you."
52:32أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَOr do their minds command them to this? Or are they a people who transgress all bounds?
52:33أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَOr do they say, "He has invented it"? No — they simply will not believe.
52:34فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَThen let them produce a discourse like it, if they are truthful.
52:35أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَOr were they created from nothing? Or are they themselves the creators?
52:36أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَOr did they create the heavens and the earth? No — they have no certainty.
52:37أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَOr do they hold the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the ones in control?
52:38أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍOr do they have a ladder by which they listen in? Then let their listener bring clear authority.
52:39أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَOr does God have daughters while you have sons?
52:40أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَOr do you ask them for a reward, so that they are weighed down by debt?
52:41أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَOr do they hold the unseen, writing it down?
52:42أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَOr are they plotting a scheme? Then those who deny — they are the ones ensnared.
52:43أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَOr do they have a god other than God? Glory be to God, far above what they associate with him.
52:44وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌAnd if they saw a fragment of the sky falling, they would say, "Just clouds piled up."
52:45فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَSo leave them until they meet the day when they will be struck down,
52:46يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَthe day when their scheming will avail them nothing, and they will not be helped.
52:47وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَAnd for those who do wrong, there is a punishment before that — but most of them do not know.
52:48وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُBe patient with your Lord's decree — you are within our sight. And glorify your Lord with praise when you rise,
52:49وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَـٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِAnd glorify him in the night, and as the stars retreat.
