Has there not come upon man a stretch of time when he was nothing worth mentioning?
Indeed, we created the human being from a mingled drop, to test him, and we made him hearing and seeing.
Indeed, we guided him to the path — whether grateful or ungrateful.
Indeed, we have prepared for those who deny chains, iron collars, and sa'ir.
Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup whose mixture is camphor,
76:6عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًاa spring from which the servants of God drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly.
They fulfill their vows and fear a day whose evil spreads far and wide.
And they give food, despite their love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,
We feed you for the sake of God alone — we want no reward from you, nor thanks."
Indeed, we fear from our Lord a grim and distressing day.
So God shielded them from the evil of that day and met them with radiance and joy,
And he rewarded them for their patient endurance with a garden and silk.
Reclining there on couches, they will find neither scorching sun nor bitter cold.
Its shade hangs close above them, and its clusters of fruit are bowed low within reach.
Vessels of silver are passed around them, and cups clear as crystal,
76:16قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًاcrystal goblets of silver, measured to a precise measure.
And there they will be given a cup to drink, mixed with ginger,
76:18عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًاfrom a spring there called Salsabil.
Eternal youths move among them — when you see them, you would take them for scattered pearls.
And when you look there, you will see bliss and a vast kingdom.
They will wear garments of fine green silk and rich brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink.
Indeed, this is your reward, and your striving has been received with thanks."
Indeed, we ourselves have sent down the Qur'an to you, a gradual revelation.
So be patient for your Lord's decree, and do not obey any sinner or ungrateful one among them.
And remember the name of your Lord, morning and evening.
And in the night, prostrate to him, and glorify him through the long night.
These people love what passes quickly and leave behind them a heavy day.
We alone created them and made their frames firm, and whenever we will, we can replace them with others like them entirely.
This is a reminder. Whoever wills, let them take a path to their Lord.
Yet you will not, unless God wills. Indeed, God is all-knowing, all-wise.
God admits whom he wills into his mercy; and for the wrongdoers, he has prepared a painful punishment.
