Surah Al-'Adiyat — العاديات

Chapter 100 of the Qur'an · “The Courser” · 11 verses · revealed in Makkah

1. 100:1 وَٱلْعَـٰدِيَـٰتِ ضَبْحًا By the charging steeds that pant,
2. 100:2 فَٱلْمُورِيَـٰتِ قَدْحًا striking sparks with their hooves,
3. 100:3 فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحًا and the raiders at dawn,
4. 100:4 فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًا stirring up clouds of dust,
5. 100:5 فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعًا and pierce thereby into the midst of the host,
6. 100:6 إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌ indeed, the human being is ungrateful to his Lord,
7. 100:7 وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ and indeed, he is a witness to that,
8. 100:8 وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ and in his love of wealth he is fierce.
9. 100:9 ۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ Does he not know that when what lies in the graves is scattered forth,
10. 100:10 وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ and what is hidden in the heart is brought out,
11. 100:11 إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّخَبِيرٌۢ indeed, on that day their Lord is fully aware of them.
