Surah Az-Zalzalah — الزلزلة

Chapter 99 of the Qur'an · “The Earthquake” · 8 verses · revealed in Madinah

99:1 إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا When the earth is shaken with its quaking,
99:2 وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا and the earth brings forth its burdens,
99:3 وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا لَهَا and the human cries out, "What is happening to it?"
99:4 يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا on that day, she will tell her story,
99:5 بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا because your Lord has inspired it.
99:6 يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ On that day, people will come forth in scattered groups to be shown their deeds.
99:7 فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُۥ whoever has done an atom's weight of good will see it,
99:8 وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُۥ and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
