Surah Ash-Sharh — الشرح

Chapter 94 of the Qur'an · “The Relief” · 8 verses · revealed in Makkah

94:1 أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ Did We not relieve your heart for you [Prophet],
94:2 وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ and remove the burden
94:3 ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ that weighed so heavily on your back,
94:4 وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ and raise your reputation high?
94:5 فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا So truly where there is hardship there is also ease;
94:6 إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا truly where there is hardship there is also ease.
94:7 فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ The moment you are freed [of one task] work on,
94:8 وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب and turn to your Lord for everything.
