خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
Khuliqa mim maaa'in daafiq
وہ اچھلتے ہوئے پانی سے پیدا ہوا ہے
Created from a gushing fluid,
Sura al-Tariq is building an argument, and this verse supplies its evidence: verse 8 concludes that whatever power produced a beginning like this can bring a person back again. The Arabic dāfiq is an active participle, giving the fluid its own motion rather than casting it as something merely poured. An origin no one would boast of is what carries the whole case.
