بِمَا غَفَرَ لِى رَبِّى وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ
Bimaa ghafara lee Rabbee wa ja'alanee minal mukrameen
کہ خدا نے مجھے بخش دیا اور عزت والوں میں کیا
how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored.
What the man wants at the moment of his vindication is that his people should know. They had just rejected him, and the wish he speaks is that they might see what he now sees, which the commentators read as loyalty surviving his own killing. The passage never names him, and the surah turns at once to what became of the town.
