Surah Ya-Sin — 36:26

Qeelad khulil Jannnah; qaala yaa laita qawmee ya'lamoon

It was said, "Enter the garden." He said, "If only my people knew

Reflection

Qīla leaves the speaker unnamed, so the invitation arrives with no agent attached to it. The command is in the present: he is told to enter now, before any resurrection has been described, which is why this line became a standing argument in discussions of the state between death and the last day. Readers differ over whether the garden meant here is the final one or an interim place.
