Fear rarely knocks politely. It shows up before the diagnosis, before the decision, before the door opens, and it whispers that you are alone with whatever comes next. The Qur'an meets that feeling directly, and again and again it answers with the same steadying phrase: do not fear.
These verses were often spoken to frightened people at their worst moments — a mother placing her baby in a river, a prophet standing before a tyrant, believers cornered and outnumbered. God did not scold their fear. He came near to it and offered His companionship instead. Read slowly, and let the promise reach the part of you that is still bracing for the worst.
41:30 — Indeed, those who say, 'Our Lord is God,' and then stand firm — the angels descend upon them: 'Do not fear, and do not grieve. Receive the good news of the garden you were promised.
2:38 — Then we said, "Go down from it, all of you. Guidance will surely come to you from me, and whoever follows my guidance will have no fear, nor will they grieve."
3:139 — Do not lose heart and do not grieve — you are the higher ones, if you are truly believers.
10:62 — Truly, the friends of God have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve —
20:46 — God said, "Do not be afraid. I am with you both — I hear and I see."
9:40 — If you do not help him, God has already helped him — when those who denied drove him out, the second of two, when the two of them were in the cave, when he said to his companion, "Do not grieve; God is with us." Then God sent down his tranquility upon him and supported him with forces you did not see, and brought the word of those who denied to the lowest, while the word of God is the highest. And God is mighty, wise.
28:7 — And we inspired the mother of Musa: "Nurse him, and when you fear for him, cast him into the river. Do not fear and do not grieve — we will return him to you and make him one of the messengers."
2:112 — On the contrary — whoever surrenders their whole being to God while doing good will have their reward with their Lord. No fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve.
