أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَـٰدًا
Alam naj'alil arda mihaa da
Did we not make the earth a cradle,
The grammar changes person at this line. The opening five verses talk about these people, reporting their question and twice announcing that they will find out, and the tone is that of a verdict delivered over their heads. Here the text turns and asks them something instead, and by verse eight it is saying you outright, so the passage stops pronouncing on them and starts requiring an answer.
