وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُۥ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ
Wa anna sa'yahoo sawfa yuraa
and that his striving will be seen,
The passive here leaves the viewer unnamed, and commentators filled it in differently: shown to the person on the day itself, displayed before others, or present in God's knowledge all along. Sawfa sets the seeing at a distance from the doing. The verse after it opens with thumma, which marks an interval, so the display and the repayment are staged as separate moments.
