Surah Al-Hijr — 15:33

Qaala lam akul li asjuda libasharin khalaqtahoo min salsaalim min hama im masnoon

He said, "I will not prostrate to a mortal you created from clay drawn from dark, molded mud."

Reflection

Iblis answers by naming the material and stopping there. God's account of the making ran in two parts, the clay in one verse and the breath of his spirit in the next, and the refusal repeats the first half word for word while leaving the second out altogether. Bashar is his choice of term as well, a human named as a body, where the passage has been speaking about what was put into that body.
