Surah Al-Humazah — الهمزة
Chapter 104 of the Qur'an · “The Traducer” · 9 verses · revealed in Makkah
- 104:1 وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ Woe to every slanderer and backbiter,
- 104:2 ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ who amasses wealth and counts it over and over,
- 104:3 يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ thinking his wealth will make him live forever.
- 104:4 كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ No! He will surely be flung into hutama.
- 104:5 وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ And what will make you know what hutama is?
- 104:6 نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُوقَدَةُ the fire of God, kindled,
- 104:7 ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ rising over the hearts.
- 104:8 إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ It will close in upon them,
- 104:9 فِى عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍۭ in outstretched columns.
