وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَـٰغِينَ
Wa maa kaana lanaa 'alaikum min sultaanim bal kuntum qawman taagheen
we had no power over you- and you were already exceeding all limits.
We had no authority over you — you yourselves were a people who transgressed.
