Surah Al-Humazah — الهمزة

Chapter 104 of the Qur'an · “The Traducer” · 9 verses · revealed in Makkah

1. 104:1 وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ Woe to every fault-finding backbiter
2. 104:2 ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ who amasses riches, counting them over,
3. 104:3 يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ thinking they will make him live for ever.
4. 104:4 كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ No indeed! He will be thrust into the Crusher!
5. 104:5 وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ What will explain to you what the Crusher is?
6. 104:6 نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُوقَدَةُ It is God’s Fire, made to blaze,
7. 104:7 ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ which rises over people’s hearts.
8. 104:8 إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ It closes in on them
9. 104:9 فِى عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍۭ in towering columns.
