Is music haram?

Muslims hold different views about music. Many enjoy it as a form of art, culture, and joy, while others prefer to avoid it. The Qur’an reminds us: “Use your voice with dignity and moderation” (31:19). What matters is whether music helps the heart remember goodness, or whether it distracts from it.
