وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
Wa maa tashaaa'oona illaa anyyashaaa'al laah; innal laahaa kaana'Aleeman Hakeema
اور تم کچھ بھی نہیں چاہ سکتے مگر جو خدا کو منظور ہو۔ بےشک خدا جاننے والا حکمت والا ہے
Yet you will not, unless God wills. Indeed, God is all-knowing, all-wise.
Al-Insān opens by placing the human being at a point in time before there was anything about them to mention, and every stage since has been described here as given: a mingled drop, hearing and sight, the way pointed out. The qualification of human wanting lands at the end of that account rather than out of nowhere. Note which two names close the verse: knowledge and wisdom, where a reader might expect power.
