مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا
muttaki'eena feeha 'alal araaa 'iki laa yarawna feehaa shamsanw wa laa zamhareeraa
ان میں وہ تختوں پر تکیے لگائے بیٹھے ہوں گے۔ وہاں نہ دھوپ (کی حدت) دیکھیں گے نہ سردی کی شدت
Reclining there on couches, they will find neither scorching sun nor bitter cold.
Zamharīr appears once in the whole Qur'an and names cold at its most severe, so the pair here covers both ends of the weather a desert knows. The verb is seeing rather than feeling: they see no sun there, and the next verse still hangs shade close over them, which commentators noticed and read as shade with nothing to cast it. What is promised here is the removal of what wears a body down, set between silk on one side and fruit within reach on the other.
