قَالَ فَٱهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَن تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَٱخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰغِرِينَ
Qaala fahbit minhaa famaa yakoonu laka an tatakabbara feehaa fakhruj innaka minas saaghireen
فرمایا تو (بہشت سے) اتر جا تجھے شایاں نہیں کہ یہاں غرور کرے پس نکل جا۔ تو ذلیل ہے
God said, "Descend from it. It is not for you to be arrogant here. Get out — you are among the debased."
The sentence answers the claim made a moment earlier. Iblis had ranked himself above Adam by their two materials, and the reply sends him down and puts him among the ṣāghirīn, those made small, meeting the boast on its own terms. The command is singular here, addressed to him alone, where the same verb comes in the plural to Adam and his wife at 2:38.
