لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٌ وَٰعِيَةٌ
Linaj'alahaa lakum tazki ratanw-wa ta'iyahaa unzununw waa'iyah
تاکہ اس کو تمہارے لئے یادگار بنائیں اور یاد رکھنے والے کان اسے یاد رکھیں
so that we might make it a reminder for you, and that attentive ears might hold it.
Waʿā describes a container holding what is put inside it, and the noun from that stem is what the Yusuf story uses for the sacks that were searched. An ear described this way is asked to do what the ship did: carry something through the water intact. Drowned nations stand just before this line and a trumpet blast just after, and this one hands survival to a listener.
