۞ وَلَهُۥ مَا سَكَنَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
Wa lahoo maa sakana fillaili wannahaar; wa Huwas Samee'ul Aleem
اور جو مخلوق رات اور دن میں بستی ہے سب اسی کی ہے اور وہ سنتا جانتا ہے
To him belongs whatever rests in the night and the day, and he is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
The claim widens here from place to time: the verse just before gave God all that fills sky and earth, and this one gives him everything that settles into darkness and daylight. Sakana is the verb of coming to rest, sharing its stem with the words for a dwelling and for stillness. Naming hearing first suits that, since hearing is the sense that keeps working after night takes sight away.
