Surah Ar-Rahman — 55:1

ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ

Ar Rahmaan

(خدا جو) نہایت مہربان

The Most Merciful

Reflection

A single divine name stands as the subject of everything that follows, so the surah opens as one long sentence running across its first four verses. The order inside it is deliberate: teaching the Qur'an is placed before creating the human being, and clear speech comes after both. Al-Raḥmān was the name Mecca objected to by name at 25:60, and it stands here alone as the surah's opening word.
