وَيَوْمَ يُحْشَرُ أَعْدَآءُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ
Wa yawma yuhsharu a'daaa'ul laahi ilan Naari fahum yooza'oon
اور جس دن خدا کے دشمن دوزخ کی طرف چلائے جائیں گے تو ترتیب وار کرلیئے جائیں گے
On the day when the enemies of God are gathered to the fire, they will be driven on in ranks,
Yūzaʿūn carries an unexpected sense, since the verb means to hold back, and commentators explain it as the front of the column being checked so the rear can catch up, keeping the ranks whole. The picture is of an escorted procession under order rather than a stampede. What follows makes the reason clear: the assembly is being formed so that testimony can be taken, and the witnesses called are the person's own hearing, sight and skin.
