لَقَدْ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
Laqad mannal laahu 'alal mu'mineena iz ba'asa feehim Rasoolam min anfusihim yatloo 'alaihim Aayaatihee wa yuzakkeehim wa yu'allimu humul Kitaaba wal Hikmata wa in kaanoo min qablu lafee dalaalim mubeen
خدا نے مومنوں پر بڑا احسان کیا ہے کہ ان میں انہیں میں سے ایک پیغمبر بھیجے۔ جو ان کو خدا کی آیتیں پڑھ پڑھ کر سناتے اور ان کو پاک کرتے اور (خدا کی) کتاب اور دانائی سکھاتے ہیں اور پہلے تو یہ لوگ صریح گمراہی میں تھے
God has truly shown his grace to the believers by raising up among them a Messenger from their own, who recites his signs to them, purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom — though before this they were in clear error.
The gift named here is placed with care. It comes in the aftermath of Uhud, so a reminder of what the community was given arrives before any accounting of how it failed. The Arabic manna carries the sense of a favor conferred freely, with nothing owed back; and the Messenger is described as raised up min anfusihim, from among their own selves, the same word the next verse uses when the loss is traced back to them.
