وَحُشِرَ لِسُلَيْمَـٰنَ جُنُودُهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ وَٱلطَّيْرِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ
Wa hushira Sulaimaana junooduhoo minal jinni wal insi wattairi fahum yooza'oon
اور سلیمان کے لئے جنوں اور انسانوں اور پرندوں کے لشکر جمع کئے گئے اور قسم وار کئے جاتے تھے
And Sulayman's hosts of jinn, humans, and birds were gathered before him, marshaled in ordered ranks.
The verb yūza'ūn comes from a root meaning to hold back, and the picture is a column so long that its front ranks must be checked while the rest catch up. Two verses later Sulayman reaches for that same root about himself, asking God to hold him to gratitude. Command over jinn, people and birds sits next to a king asking to be governed.
