وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Wakhfid janaahaka limanit taba 'aka minal mu'mineen
اور جو مومن تمہارے پیرو ہوگئے ہیں ان سے متواضع پیش آؤ
And lower your wing in tenderness to the believers who follow you.
A bird lowers its wing over its young, and that image occurs three times in scripture: twice for the Prophet toward believers, and once for a grown child toward aging parents. Here it comes directly after the command to warn his nearest kin, so the circle of warning is drawn by blood and the circle of tenderness by who chose to follow. Some of those relatives would end up in both.
