ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
Summa innakum ba'da zaalika la maaiyitoon
پھر اس کے بعد تم مرجاتے ہو
Then, after all that, you will surely die.
This verse and its successor are built to the same pattern in Arabic, each opening with thumma innakum, each setting a time phrase before its final word, so that dying and being raised arrive with equal grammatical weight. The forming took a long, crowded verse; what undoes it takes five words. Being addressed directly as you begins right here, at the point where the account reaches the reader's own death.
