قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكَ يَـٰسَـٰمِرِىُّ
Qaala famaa khatbuka yaa Saamiriyy
پھر (سامری سے) کہنے لگے کہ سامری تیرا کیا حال ہے؟
Musa said, "And what is your case, Samiri?"
Musa deals with his brother first and comes to the man who made the calf only afterwards, and the question he puts runs four words against the whole exchange before it. Khaṭb asks after a matter of consequence, the same word Musa uses at the well in Madyan when he asks two women what their trouble is. The answer he gets puts the blame on the lower self, which is the passage's whole account of how it happened.
