أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَٰتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ ۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُهْتَدُونَ
Ulaaa'ika 'alaihim salawaatun mir Rabbihim wa rahma; wa ulaaa'ika humul muhtadoon
یہی لوگ ہیں جن پر ان کے پروردگار کی مہربانی اور رحمت ہے۔ اور یہی سیدھے رستے پر ہیں
upon them are blessings from their Lord, and mercy — and it is they who are rightly guided.
The sentence begun two verses earlier finishes here, so the good news promised to those who endure loss turns out to be blessing, mercy and guidance, with nothing said about restoring what was taken. Salawat is the plural of the word used for prayer, what a person sends upward, described here as coming down. Guidance is named last, as though the answer the bereaved gave were itself the proof of it.
