أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْوَىٰهُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَّـٰمُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ
Alam ya'lamooo annal laaha ya'lamu sirrahum wa najwaahum wa annal laaha 'Allaamul Ghuyoob
İkiyüzlüler, Allah'ın onların sırlarını ve gizli toplantılarını bildiğini, Allah'ın görünmeyenleri bilen olduğunu bilmiyorlar mıydı?
Do they not know that God knows their secrets and their private talks, and that God is the Knower of all that is hidden?
Two kinds of hiding are named together: sirr, what a person keeps inside, and najwā, the huddle where two or more agree on something they would not say aloud. The passage has just described a vow made to God in private and broken in public, so the question closes the circle by naming the exact places that vow lived. ʿAllām al-ghuyūb is an intensive form, the knower of hidden things by habit and constitution.
