Among a dozen clauses about the sun, the stars, the mountains and the seas, one buried girl is given the only question in the list. Both verbs are passive, so whoever put her in the ground goes unnamed, and commentators read the asking of the victim, in front of the one who killed her, as a rebuke aimed at him. The question looks for a sin that could account for her death, and she has none to give.
