تَعْرُجُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ
Ta'rujul malaaa'ikatu war Roohu ilaihi fee yawmin kaana miqdaaruhoo khamseena alfa sanah

The angels and the Spirit ascend to him on a day whose measure is fifty thousand years.
The surah's name, al-Maʿārij, turns into a verb here, taʿruju, for the climbing of the ascents named a line earlier. At 32:5 the same verb and the same measuring phrase come with a thousand years, and commentators divided over the fifty thousand here: the length of that climb for a human traveller, or the length of the day of judgment. Ibn ʿAbbas, asked to reconcile the figures, is reported to have called them two days God mentions and knows best, and to have said no more.
