Surah Al-Haqqah — 69:44

وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلْأَقَاوِيلِ

Wa law taqawwala 'alainaa ba'dal aqaaweel

Eğer o (Muhammed), Bize karşı, ona bazı sözler katmış olsaydı, Biz onu kuvvetle yakalardık, sonra onun şah damarını koparırdık.

Had he attributed any false sayings to us,

Reflection

Four verses of defence run ahead of this one, and here the passage supposes the opposite for a moment, so the case for the recitation arrives as a description of what an execution would look like. Watīn, the artery at the heart, occurs once in the whole text; whether the right hand doing the seizing is God's own power or the forger's arm pinned is disputed. The argument finally rests on the man still standing there, reciting.
