يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
Yursalu 'alaikumaa shuwaazum min naarifiw-wa nuhaasun falaa tantasiraan

A flame of fire and molten brass will be sent against you both, and you will not defend yourselves.
This answers the challenge two verses earlier, where the two communities are invited to pass beyond the edges of the heavens and the earth if they can. Lexicographers took shuwāẓ as flame without smoke, and read nuḥās either as molten copper or as smoke without flame, so the pair covers both halves of a fire. The dual verb keeps jinn and humankind addressed together throughout the passage.
