Surah Al-Furqan — 25:23

وَقَدِمْنَآ إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ هَبَآءً مَّنثُورًا

Wa qadimnaaa ilaa maa 'amiloo min 'amalin faja'alnaahu habaaa'am mansooraa

Yaptıkları her işi ele alır, onu toz duman ederiz.

And we will turn to the deeds they have done and scatter them like dust on the wind.

Reflection

The verb that opens the verse is one of arrival: God comes forward to the deeds, which answers the demand made two verses earlier that God be seen. Manthūr, scattered, is the same participle behind the scattered pearls that the youths serving in the garden are likened to, so one word covers what is spread out as a reward and what is spread out as a loss.
