وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ
Wallazeena hum bi Rabbihim laa yushrikoon
Rablerinden korkarak titreyenler, Rablerinin ayetlerine inananlar, Rablerine eş koşmayanlar, Rablerine dönecekleri için kalbleri ürpererek vermeleri gerekeni verenler, işte onlar iyi işlerde yarış ederler, o uğurda ileri geçerler.
and those who ascribe no partners to their Lord,
Every clause in this run of five names their Lord directly, and this one stands at the centre of the sequence, which moves from awe, through trust in the signs, to what a person withholds from everyone else, and on to giving with a fearful heart. The list describes inward states, and the line closing it calls these the people racing ahead in good works.
