Innnamaa ju'ilas Sabtu 'alal lazeenakhtalafoo feeh; wa inna Rabbaka la yahkumu bainahum Yawmal Qiyaamati feemaa kaanoo feehi yakhtalifoon
Cumartesi ibadeti, ancak o gün üzerinde çekişenlere farz kılındı. Rabbin, ayrılığa düştükleri şeylerde, kıyamet günü aralarında hükmedecektir.
The Sabbath was ordained only for those who differed about it, and your Lord will surely judge between them on the day of resurrection concerning what they used to dispute.
The instruction just before this is to follow Ibrahim's way, and he kept no Sabbath at all; the Sabbath ruling arrives immediately after it, which commentators took as the point, since what was given to one disputing community stands outside the way being commended. One verb opens the verse and closes it, the dispute being both the occasion of the obligation and the thing finally judged.
