Injustice leaves a particular ache. You replay the moment you were dismissed, cheated, or silenced, and something in you insists that the scale was tipped wrong. The Qur'an meets that insistence with a demand of its own: it asks the believer to stand for fairness even when the truth costs you, even when it weighs against your own family.
These verses hold two things at once. They comfort the one who has been wronged, promising that nothing is lost on God, and they warn the one who holds power against letting anger or love bend the verdict. Read them slowly. Let them steady your sense of what is owed, and to whom.
4:58 — God commands you to return what has been entrusted to you to its rightful owners, and when you judge between people, to judge with justice. Excellent is what God instructs you with. God is ever hearing, ever seeing.
4:135 — You who believe, stand firm for justice as witnesses for God, even against yourselves, your parents, or your close kin. Whether the person is rich or poor, God is closer to them than you are. So do not follow your own desires away from justice. If you twist your testimony or turn away, God is fully aware of what you do.
5:8 — You who believe, stand firm for God as witnesses to justice, and do not let hatred of a people drive you to be unjust. Be just — that is closer to mindfulness of God. And be mindful of God; God is fully aware of what you do.
6:152 — Do not go near the orphan's property except in the way that is best, until they reach maturity. Give full measure and full weight in fairness; we do not burden any soul beyond what it can bear. When you speak, be just, even if it concerns a close relative. And fulfill your covenant with God. This he has enjoined upon you, so that you may take heed.
16:90 — Indeed, God commands justice, excellence, and giving to kin, and forbids indecency, wrongdoing, and transgression. He counsels you, so that you may take heed.
42:40 — The recompense for a wrong is a wrong like it, but whoever pardons and sets things right, his reward rests with God. Indeed, he does not love the wrongdoers.
49:9 — If two groups of the believers fall into fighting, make peace between them. But if one of them transgresses against the other, then fight the one that transgresses until it returns to God's command. If it returns, make peace between them with justice, and be fair. Indeed, God loves those who are fair.
60:8 — God does not forbid you from being kind and just toward those who have not fought you over religion and have not driven you from your homes. Indeed, God loves those who act justly.
