Hope is a strange thing to hold when the days feel heavy. It asks you to believe in relief you cannot yet see, and to keep waking up while the proof is still on its way. The Qur'an speaks to that exact moment, when a person stands at the edge of despair and wonders if mercy still has their name written somewhere.
The verses here return again and again to one promise: God does not abandon the one who turns toward Him. They were spoken to prophets who had lost children, to people crushed by fear, to hearts that had run out of patience. Read them slowly, and let them remind you that despair was never meant to have the final word.
39:53 — Say: my servants who have wronged yourselves through excess, do not despair of God's mercy. God forgives all sins. Indeed, he is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
12:87 — My sons, go and seek news of Yusuf and his brother, and do not despair of God's mercy. None despairs of God's mercy except those who deny him.
2:286 — God does not burden any soul beyond its capacity. To its credit is what it has earned, and against it is what it has wrought. Our Lord, do not take us to task if we forget or fall into error. Our Lord, do not lay upon us a burden like the one you laid upon those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with what we have no strength to bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us; you are our Protector, so help us against the people who deny.
3:139 — Do not lose heart and do not grieve — you are the higher ones, if you are truly believers.
13:28 — those who believe, and whose hearts find peace in the remembrance of God — truly, in the remembrance of God hearts find peace.
65:3 — and will provide for them from where they did not expect. Whoever places their trust in God — he is enough for them. Indeed, God brings his purpose to pass; God has set a measure for everything.
21:87 — And remember Dhul-Nun, when he went off in anger and thought we would not constrain him. Then he cried out from within the depths of darkness: "There is no god but you. Glory be to you. Truly, I have been among the wrongdoers."
