Some pain announces itself in the body, and some settles quietly in the chest where no one can see it. The Qur'an speaks to both. It names sickness without flinching, and it points past the wound to the One who mends what we cannot reach ourselves.
Ibrahim said of his Lord, and when I am ill, it is He who cures me. That confidence runs through these verses like a steady pulse. Healing arrives on God's timing, often slower than we beg for, yet the promise holds for anyone who turns toward Him while they wait.
26:80 — and when I fall ill, he is the one who heals me;
17:82 — And we send down of the Qur'an what is healing and mercy for those who believe, and it only increases the wrongdoers in loss.
10:57 — O humankind, a teaching has come to you from your Lord, a healing for what is in the heart, and guidance and mercy for those who believe.
41:44 — Had we made it a Qur'an in a foreign tongue, they would have said, 'If only its verses were made clear! A foreign tongue and an Arab speaker?' Say: for those who believe, it is guidance and healing; but those who do not believe — in their ears is a deafness, and it is blindness upon them. They are being called from a faraway place.
16:69 — Then eat from all the fruits and travel the paths of your Lord, made smooth for you.' From their bellies comes a drink of varying colors, in which there is healing for people. In that is truly a sign for people who reflect.
9:14 — Fight them; God will punish them by your hands and disgrace them, grant you victory over them, and heal the hearts of a believing people.
21:83 — And Ayyub — when he called out to his Lord, "Affliction has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful."
