Contentment arrives quietly, long after the striving stops. The Qur'an speaks to the part of us that keeps measuring our portion against everyone else's, and it offers a different scale. God reminds the anxious heart that what we hold is enough when we remember Who gave it.
These verses do not ask you to want nothing. They invite you to rest in what is already yours and to trust the One who apportions. Read them slowly when your chest feels tight with comparison, and let the words return you to a settled soul.
13:28 — those who believe, and whose hearts find peace in the remembrance of God — truly, in the remembrance of God hearts find peace.
89:28 — return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing,
20:131 — And do not strain your eyes toward what we have given certain groups among them to enjoy — the bloom of this worldly life — by which we test them. The provision of your Lord is better and more lasting.
93:5 — And your Lord will surely give to you, and you will be content.
65:3 — and will provide for them from where they did not expect. Whoever places their trust in God — he is enough for them. Indeed, God brings his purpose to pass; God has set a measure for everything.
2:216 — Fighting has been prescribed for you, though you find it hateful. You may hate something that is good for you, and you may love something that is bad for you. God knows, and you do not.
