Some of the deepest wounds come from people we let close. A friend repeats what you confided, a partner breaks a promise, family turns away when you needed them most. The Qur'an speaks to this with startling honesty, because even prophets were sold, abandoned, and lied about by their own.
These verses sit with the sting of misplaced trust and offer a way forward that keeps your dignity intact. They permit grief, they permit a just response, and they hold open the harder door of pardon for the day you are ready to walk through it.
3:186 — You will surely be tested in your wealth and in yourselves, and you will surely hear much hurtful speech from those who were given the scripture before you and from those who ascribe partners to God. But if you are patient and mindful of God, that is among the matters requiring firm resolve.
12:18 — And they came with false blood on his shirt. He said, "No — your lower selves have lured you into something. Beautiful patience is what is called for, and God's help is sought against what you describe."
12:92 — He said, "No blame upon you today. May God forgive you — he is the Most Merciful of the merciful.
42:40 — The recompense for a wrong is a wrong like it, but whoever pardons and sets things right, his reward rests with God. Indeed, he does not love the wrongdoers.
42:43 — But whoever is patient and forgives — that is among the matters requiring true resolve.
5:13 — So for their breaking of the covenant, we cursed them and hardened their hearts. They twist words from their places and have forgotten a portion of what they were reminded of. You will keep discovering treachery among them, except for a few. So pardon them and overlook. Indeed, God loves those who do good.
3:159 — It was by a mercy from God that you were gentle with them. Had you been harsh and hard of heart, they would have scattered from around you. So pardon them, ask forgiveness for them, and consult them in the matter. Then, once you have resolved, place your trust in God — indeed, God loves those who place their trust in him.
8:58 — And if you fear treachery from a people, cast their treaty back to them on equal terms. God does not love the treacherous.
