Allazeena aamanoo wa haajaroo wa jaahadoo fee sabeelil laahi bi amwaalihim wa anufsihim a'zamu darajatan 'indal laah; wa ulaaa'ika humul faaa'izoon
Those who believe, who migrated and struggled in the way of God with their wealth and their lives hold a greater rank with God — and they are the ones who triumph.
Wealth is named before lives here, the order this surah keeps whenever it describes struggle (9:41, 9:88), and the one that costs a settled community first. The rank given is aʿẓamu darajatan, one degree greater, stated after two verses that had only denied parity between deeds. Migration sits between belief and struggle as the act that made both of them cost something.
