يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
Yoolijul laila fin nahaari wa yoolijun nahaara fil lail; wa Huwa 'Aleemum bizaatis sudoor
He merges the night into the day and merges the day into the night, and he knows what lies within the heart.
One root runs three times through this short passage, and its sense is to slip inside something: what goes into the earth two verses above, then night going into day and day into night here, and the sentence closes inside a person, on what the chest holds. Both verbs are continuous forms rather than finished ones, which suits a pair of lengths that trade with each other all year long.
