ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهَآ أَوْ يَخَافُوٓا۟ أَن تُرَدَّ أَيْمَـٰنٌۢ بَعْدَ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ۗ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ
Zaalika adnaaa ai yaatoo bishshahaadati 'alaa wajhihaaa aw yakhaafooo an turadda aimaanum ba'da aimaanihim; wattaqul laaha wasma'oo; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmal faasiqeen
That makes it more likely they will give testimony as it truly is, or fear that their oaths may be set aside after they have sworn them. Be mindful of God and listen. God does not guide a people who defy what is right.
