Surah Al-Ahzab — 33:1

Yaa aiyuhan Nabiyyut taqil laaha wa laa tuti'il kaafireena wal munaafiqeen; innal laaha kaana 'aleeman Hakeemaa

O Prophet, be mindful of God, and do not obey those who deny or the hypocrites. Indeed, God is all-knowing, all-wise.

Reflection

God addresses the Prophet by his office all through the Qur'an and calls the others by name, Musa and Maryam and Ibrahim among them; his own name appears four times, never once in address. Three surahs open with that title-call, and this one comes first among them. That a command to mindfulness is issued to him at all drew comment early, and it was read as reaching the community through the man addressed.
