Surah Al-Kafirun — 109:6

لَكُمْ دِينُكُمْ وَلِىَ دِينِ

Lakum deenukum wa liya deen.

You have your way, and I have mine.

Reflection

The surah closes by dropping verbs altogether: two possessive phrases set side by side, with nothing left to argue. Commentators report the occasion as a proposal from Quraysh to alternate worship year by year, which explains why the refusal is repeated four times before this line settles it. Dīn covers a whole way of living rather than private belief, so what is being separated here is two entire lives.
