فَرِحَ ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ خِلَـٰفَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَرِهُوٓا۟ أَن يُجَـٰهِدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَنفِرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَرِّ ۗ قُلْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ أَشَدُّ حَرًّا ۚ لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ يَفْقَهُونَ
Farihal mukhallafoona bimaq'adihim khilaafa Rasoolil laahi wa karihooo ai yujaahidoo bi amwaalihim wa anfusihim fee sabeelil laahi wa qaaloo la tanfiroo fil harr; qul Naaru jahannama ashaddu harraa; law kaanoo yafqahoon
Cieszyli się ci, których pozostawiono w ich mieszkaniach po odejściu Posłańca Boga. Oni czuli niechęć do tego, by zmagać się swoim majątkiem i swoimi duszami na drodze Boga, i mówili: "Nie wyruszajcie w ten żar!" Powiedz: "Ogień Gehenny jest o wiele bardziej gorący!" O gdyby oni to pojęli!
Those left behind rejoiced at staying put while the Messenger of God went out, and they hated the thought of struggling in the path of God with their wealth and their lives. They said, "Do not march out in the heat." Say, "The fire of jahannam is far hotter" — if only they understood.
